Our new year started off great with a excellent presentation by Deborah Finch Murphy---Master Gardener from the U of I Extension. Her topic was "Autumn in the Garden" and she gave us detailed information on getting the garden staged for winter and the next spring. She gave suggestions for beautiful and colorful plants and shrubs that create texture and interest throughout winter and tips on creating holiday containers for the outdoor decorating. One plant suggestion for seasonal interest in the garden was the midwinter Fire Dogwood. Look it up online and be amazed!
